Dry Absorption Tower
Both the drying of furnace gas and the absorption of sulfur trioxide in sulfuric acid production are carried out in packed towers. The tower shell is constructed with a steel outer casing lined first with asbestos boards and then with acid-resistant ceramic tiles. The packing consists of ceramic stepped rings or saddle-shaped rings, among others. Mist eliminators are available in two types: wire-mesh mist eliminators and fiber-type demisters. Acid distributors commonly come in two configurations: trough-tube type and tubular type.
Tank-tube acid distributor with anode protection
In recent years, emerging high-capacity packed towers have been characterized by high gas velocities and relatively low packing heights. These new process and structural features necessitate rapid and uniform distribution of the circulating sulfuric acid across the tower cross-section. Anode-protected trough-tube acid distributors, with their high acid-distribution density per unit area, are well suited to meet this requirement and have thus become the preferred choice and the direction of development for acid distributors in dry absorption towers in recent years.
Horizontal Concentrated Acid Circulation Tank
The horizontal concentrated acid circulation tank consists of a steel horizontal cylindrical shell, with an inner lining of asbestos board followed by acid-resistant ceramic tiles.
