An electrostatic mist eliminator is a highly efficient device that uses electrostatic forces to remove mist and entrained impurities from the gas stream to be purified. Based on material, it can be classified into lead-, plastic-, and conductive fiberglass-reinforced plastic–type units; based on the shape of the collecting electrodes, it can be categorized as tubular, plate, or honeycomb types. In recent years, conductive fiberglass-reinforced plastic electrostatic mist eliminators have seen increasing application in the sulfuric acid industry due to their relatively small footprint and large gas-handling capacity.
